I’m back to the juice fast, and my body likes that. At a dinner with friends last night I was content to smell their curry and drink my water… amazing, considering my love for good food. It’s like living in a different state of being, and looking at the ‘world of food’ but not being of it… as if in a place of a different vibrational frequency. I’ve noticed that my hearing improved, and I’m alert and clear-minded.
Food can be such an addiction. I think that carbohydrates and sweeteners are so in demand because they dull our awareness, lower the energy, so we can feel content even if we’re not actually fulfilled or at peace. High energy states have their own requirements, and it’s often easier to turn the intensity down and not experience everything so acutely – heavy food will do that.
Pure live plant food, not unlike kundalini meditation or chi-gong practice, puts the body into a higher vibrational state. But the high vibration can also be associated with trauma activation, also a high energy state. Being in danger or in emotional distress opens the senses and makes a person feel acutely alive. When two different things like this are wired together in a person’s nervous system (overcoupled), the body doesn’t know which is which, and responds with alarm whenever it goes into high energy. This results in low tolerance for aliveness. That’s why while on a juice fast, some people experience emotional activation. The unresolved past traumas come up. When that happens, it’s time to pay attention and to be aware that it is simply the stored up content up for review. And to take the opportunity to work through some old difficult emotions and memories held in the body.
